Chapter 1> The Basics

This chapter explains common features and simulation workflow of the CubeMaster.

Common Features

CubeMaster has similar interfaces as Microsoft Outlook Express. It provides rich ways for you to handle the simulations workflow including entering load data, running simulation and retrieving results of the simulation.

Menu Bar: This is composed of the classified functions for the user’s convenience. If each menu selected, the sub-menu will appear. And if the desired item selected, the item will execute the command.

Tool Bar: The menu items used commonly will be shown in the form of icon.

Task Bar: It contains the shortcut icons to five task views.

Task View Area: It will be occupied by five task views.

Tab System: CubeMaster uses tabs throughout the system.  Tabs allow you to quickly and easily switch back and forth between different data entry areas or sub-screens.

Load Types

CubeMaster provides four load types for your diverse load requirements.

Mix Load: Finds the minimum number of vehicles needed to load different cargo types when you know dimension and order quantities of each cargo type. Two cases of the mix load are possible; the first is when you know the number of each vehicle types already and the second is you do not know. Of course you can calculate both of them. Moreover, you can assign the load priority for each vehicle type.

Unit Load: Finds the max number of cargos in a vehicle or pallet to load single cargo type when you do not know the cargo qty. It calculates how many numbers of cargos would be possible when you like to fill a container with single cargo size.

Set Load: Finds the max number of cargos in a single vehicle to load different cargo types when you do not know each qty. It calculates how many number of cargos would be possible from different set ratio of each size. For example, the max number of cargos for a refrigerator composed of the indoor and outdoor units can be calculated by this load type.

Multi-set Load: Finds the min number of vehicles needed to load different group or destination of cargos when you know dimension, shipping qty and set ratio of each cargo type.

Simulation Workflow

CubeMaster provides a streamlined workflow to help you to make an integrated load planning. The workflow consists of eight steps that are implemented at specific task views as shown in the following picture. The task view has independent functions and is linked to each others.
